PRODUCTS AND SUPPLIES FOR YOUR AQUARIUM AND POND

We carry all the products you need to keep your aquarium or pond happy, healthy, and clean. We offer free water testing services to our customers, and can advise on any issues you may be having. Whether you are a new aquarium or pond owner and just starting up, or are making additions and growing your hobby, we are here to help.

Fish Foods

There are plenty of options on the market for what to feed your fish, and walking into any typical pet store is sure to be overwhelming if you’re just getting started and aren’t sure what’s best for your fish.

Over our many years in business, we have seen lots of different brands come and go, and we like to stay on top of these trends and always aim to offer only the best selections for your particular needs.

Aquarium Fish Food Pellets

We proudly feature Hikari Fish Pellets. They are one of the best companies in the business for producing high quality pellet foods, and they have varieties specifically developed for Community Fish, Small and Large Cichlids, Goldfish, and Bottom Feeders.

Frozen Foods

Hikari’s line of Frozen Foods are known to be one of the highest quality products on the market. While feeding your fish a daily diet of Bloomworms may significantly boost their growth rate, it’s generally advised to limit the feeding of frozen foods such as Bloodworms or Beefheart to a few days a week, or as a treat, as they produce a lot of waste and will drastically increase your need to water changes if fed too often.

We try to keep in stock Frozen Brine Shrimp, Frozen Baby Brine Shrimp, Frozen Bloodworms and Frozen Beefheart. Of course, we can select from their entire catalog, so if you have a particular need, let us know and we can place a special order for you.

Aquariums

If you are just looking for a basic aquarium, we sell 2.5, 5, and 10-gallon tanks here as well as the basic filters and accessories you would need to get started.

Starter Kits

The fastest way to get started with fish-keeping is to simply buy a kit that comes with all the basics you need. Keep in mind the type of fish you want to keep and make sure you get an appropriate sized tank.

If you are interested in larger tanks (30+ gallons), our recommendation is to check out Pet Supermarket and PetSmart for their sales (especially the few times they run the $1/gallon promotion, that’s the best!) and snatch up your tank then.

Otherwise, if new is not a requirement, check Craigslist or OfferUp. You will often get some of the best deals in the world from people that are either upgrading their current tank or are moving and have to get rid of their tank fast!  With all that in mind, here are a few starter kits that you can check out as an opening to the hobby.

Decor

Once you have the tank, the fish and the food, you’re going to want to make it special, and we try to stock a lot of natural decorations to make your aquarium unique.

We try to maintain stock of Spider Driftwood, Malaysian Driftwood, and Manzanita Wood that can help you recreate the natural world of where your fish are from, and can give a planted aquarium a lot of texture and options to tie plants like Java Fern and Java Moss to.

Pond Products

Very Limited Availability

Starting a pond is a great way to expand your appreciation of the aquatic hobby, and it’s easier than you think! Below we show you the basics of what you need.

Water Pumps

First, once your pond is established and holding water, you need a pump to circulate the water, pumping it through a filter, and out to a waterfall or other water feature. It all starts with a good, reliable pump. You don’t want something that requires a lot of maintenance, and you naturally want it to last a long time. Depending on your specific application, we recommend Pondmaster Mag Drive Pumps and Tetra Water Garden Pumps.

Ultraviolet Clarifiers (UV Clarifiers)

In order to cut down on algae growth in your pond, you need to add an ultraviolet clarifier. As the water passes through it, it will kill the algae, allowing your filter to trap it and remove it from making your pond water green.

In-line/External

We recommend Tetra’s GreenFree line of inline clarifiers for their ease of use and simple availability of replacement bulbs when the time comes.

Tetra GreenFree UV Clarifiers work by using ultraviolet light waves to kill floating algae cells as they pass through the UV clarifier. They clear heavy algae blooms quickly and help keep your pond algae free all season long! The TetraPond GreenFree UV Clarifiers are compact, durable, energy-efficient, weatherproof, and extremely easy to install (not submersible).

Their high-efficiency Phillips PLS bulbs deliver full power and effectively control free-floating algae for one full year.
